Abstract

Inserted in and among the ruins of Verona's ancient Roman Theater are the remnants of the great swell that swept a beach in the aftermath of the Storm: a torn up seabed, felled trees, debris, while in the center Prospero's lifeboat still solidly reappears surrounded by magical golden carapaces revealing the magical and enchanted nature of the island. The storm has just passed as the unpredictable and labyrinthine mise-en-scene led by Prospero and his faithful Ariel and Caliban begins, in a dense intrigue of encounters and happenings, enchanted and labyrinthine places, until the unpredictable epilogue is reached.
